WWL loves the idea of warming centers.  There are now a few around the county.  Let’s get more.

“Homeless can seek shelter from rain, cold”

The Prado Day Center, which serves the homeless in San Luis Obispo, will be open Thursday evening and Friday as a warming station due to predicted rain and cold temperatures.

Volunteers are needed to help staff the warming station from 4:30 p.m. to midnight Thursday and from midnight to 8 a.m. Friday; 4:30 p.m. to midnight Friday and from midnight to 8 a.m. Saturday.

Prepared dinners, for up to 40 people, are needed both days. Meals can be prepared and delivered to the Prado center. Donations of plates, bowls, cups and utensils are also needed. Donations can be sent to 43 Prado Road in San Luis Obispo.
